What is the difference between a Free and a Paid Plan? #
You can see a comparison of what the plans offer by clicking here, but below is a more detailed explanation about the two key features that are determined by whether you have a free or paid plan. You may find it useful to look at the ‘What does THAT mean?’ section of this guide as well.
- Crew and Crew Slots
Your Crew is what you might want to think of as your “inner circle” on Sentlive; the people closest to you, be they family, friends or anyone significant in your life; each plan type has a defined amount of Crew Slots, and upgrading to one of the paid plans allows more slots. - Loops and Loop Slots
Similar to your Crew, Loops are a feature that allows you to have different groups of people that fit into a different segment of your life, so you might have family in your Crew, with a Loop that is dedicated to the sports club you belong to. Your Crew and Loops can overlap with the some of the same people in both. Each plan type has a defined amount of slots per Loop, plus the number of Loops you can create is also different per plan type, so upgrading plans allows more Loops and more Loop Slots. Each Loop created by someone else that you belong to counts as one Crew Slot, but your own Loops do not. Read more about Loops.
How do I cancel a subscription? #
On your Profile page you will see the details of your account with us; there are links to upgrade your plan (or to get addons if on the Together plan), and to cancel or downgrade your current subscription if you have any paid plan. Click the Cancel button and your subscription will continue to run until the next renewal date, then your membership will revert to the free Starter Plan.
What payment methods do you accept? #
This is largely controlled by our payment processor, Stripe, and at present you can pay with most credit and debit cards, and most Wallets (e.g. Apple, Google). The card types accepted by Stripe are Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and Diners, China UnionPay, JCB, Cartes Bancaires, and Interac.
Can I upgrade (or downgrade) my plan? #
Yes you can. If you want to downgrade to the free Starter plan, simply cancel your existing subscription (see above), which will continue to run for the period already paid for, and then revert to the Starter plan automatically. You will lose the additional slots in your Crew, lose any additional Loops, and the additional Loop slots you had on the previous plan. It is now also possible to downgrade directly from one paid plan to another paid plan; on your profile dashboard, if you are on a paid plan, there is now a Downgrade button. Clicking it will open a popup, where you first select the plan you want to move to, and once you have selected that and confirmed, you then may have to make some choices related to the lower limits of Crew slots, Loop slots and numbers of Loops, depending on whether you are currently above the limits of the plan you wish to change to. If you do not make these choices before your current plan expires this will be carried out automatically by the removal of any that are necessary on a last in, first out basis. Your existing plan will end, and be replaced by the new plan you selected, and your subscription payments adjusted automatically.
If you want to upgrade your plan, simply log in and go to the Pricing page, then click “Upgrade” for the plan you want; this will open the Stripe interface, where you will need to confirm your payment method and details, check that it is the correct plan and price, and confirm the transaction; at this point you will be charged for the first period of your new plan, and if you are upgrading from another paid plan, a credit will be applied to your account on Stripe for the remaining period left of your previous plan, which will then be used either partially or in full for the next payment(s) due, depending on the amount of credit and the payment due. This will be shown on your profile dashboard. Any balance needing to be paid will be charged against the payment method you had previously confirmed; if payment fails the plan will end and it will revert to the free Starter Plan.
