There are currently four tabs in the Settings section, and each of them is explained in more detail below.
1 – General #
This is where you can change your email address and generate a new password should you need to.
2 – Email/Push #
This section lets you decide whether you want to receive email and/or push notifications for a variety of actions that can occur on the social section of SentLive. These are as follows;
Safety Alert Notifications
You can adjust your email and push notifications for alerts here. They are set to a default of On when you first join.
Sents Emails
Whether you want to receive emails related to earning Sents. They are set to a default of Yes when you first join.
Social Emails
1: Activity
- A member mentions you in an update using “@yourname”
- A member replies to an update or comment you’ve posted
2: Messages
- A member sends you a new message
3: Friends
- A member sends you a friendship request
- A member accepts your friendship request
4: Groups
- A member invites you to join a group
- Group information is updated
- You are promoted to a group administrator or moderator
- A member requests to join a private group for which you are an admin
- Your request to join a group has been approved or denied
SentLive has set a default of No to all of the Social email options, as all of them are also notified via the bell whenever you are visiting the site, and we do not wish to send emails unless you want them; if you want to receive emails for any of them, just select Yes next to them and then click the Save Changes button at the bottom.
3 – Privacy #
Privacy Settings
This is a couple of setting regarding what can be seen about you on SentLive; firstly, whether you want your Profile to be hidden in the Members list, which is a simple Yes or No (default is No), and secondly who is able to see your profile, with various choices based on friendship, and which parts of your details members can see. Obviously hiding a profile will mean that no one will know that you exist on SentLive (apart from those you decide to connect with) which would limit your opportunities to meet new people, but it is entirely your choice. However we would recommend it for younger users so that only the adults and other users they already know in real life can interact with them, and means they are able to avoid any possibility of unwanted online attention.
4 – Sounds #
Choose whether to have the sound on or off after hitting the Big Blue Button. This has no effect other than turning on/off the audio confirmation of the type of Alert that has been sent, which may be particularly useful to have on for those with sight problems. The default is On.
With all of the Settings options please remember to click the Save button under each section if you have made changes.
