We know that many people might not understand some of the terms used throughout SentLive and in this guide, so this section is an attempt to clarify, explain and hopefully bring understanding to what we are talking about, and what SentLive can do for you. Technically, this section should be called a “glossary” but we weren’t sure if that might add to the potential confusion!
SentLive specific terms #
Alert: #
This actually has two meanings in the SentLive universe; it is the action taken when a member taps or holds the Crew, Loop or Stints Button, and it is also what is sent by that action, either a CALM or a Signal. Alerts also includes No Response, sent automatically when someone does not respond to a check.
Check: #
This is the ‘Are you OK?’ message sent to a member, that is generated by the schedule set either by the member themself (Scheduled Check) or by another member friend on them (Request A Check).
The Buzz: #
This refers to the stream of posts, called buzzes, similar to what you might find on X or Facebook.
Post: #
This can refer to both anything that appears in The Buzz, or the SentLive Forum, and to specific items such as Alerts, and is both a name and an action (‘That was her first post’ and ‘she posted a CALM Alert’).
Crew: #
The group of people who are informed, and who inform you, with CALMs and Signals sent from the Crew Button.
Loop: #
Another group of people, that can include Crew, who are informed, and who inform you, with CALMs and Signals sent from the Loop Button.
Stint: #
A period of time, decided on by you, with more detailed monitoring; this could be, for example, on a morning jog, a regular commute, or a one off journey somewhere. You choose where any alerts by you or automatically generated are sent – to your Crew, a particular Loop, or to everyone you are connected to.
Crew Button, Loop Button & Stint Button: #
The three buttons that you click/tap or hold to send alerts. The only difference between them is who gets informed by the button action.
